Dentures can replace one or more missing teeth as well as gum tissue. A distinction is made between removable and fixed dentures. Removable dentures must be removed and cleaned after each meal. The fixed prosthesis is either a crown (e.g. ceramic) comprising a part or all of the tooth, or a ceramic bridge that replaces one or more teeth.
